Graduates of the MA in Music Therapy have attained successful careers in the health and education services in Ireland and abroad. Graduates work in special schools, nursing homes, hospice services, residential services for adults with intellectual disability and adults who have acquired brain injury.
A primary degree in music with first or second class honours or approved professional qualification. Experience and skills in the use of music in both group and individual contexts in a leadership capacity. Experience assisting and/or working with people who have a disability. Applicants attending for interview are required to perform pieces on their first instrument and sing at least one song accompanying themselves on piano and guitar. An interview with a psychotherapist will assess applicant's therapeutic potential.
