Course content

The MA in the History of the Media offers an introduction to the field, covering aspects of the history of communication from the middle ages to the present day. It is co-taught by specialists from across the university in fields such as history, music, Irish, English, art history, information and library science and politics. There are two core courses on the programme—The Media and the Dawn of the Modern Age, coordinated by Dr Alexander Wilkinson and The Media in the Modern World, coordinated by Dr Judith Devlin. The conclusion of the programme is a 15,000 word dissertation.
