About the course

The MA in Global Security and Strategy provides students and professionals with comprehensive knowledge and policy-oriented skills at the intersection of security and strategic studies. The programme enables students interested in an international career in government, international organisations, think tanks or NGOs to gain unique theoretical foundations, practical skill sets and high-level contacts. Leading scholars, think tanks, and senior strategists in security studies (from organisations including NATO, the United Nations, the Royal Military Academy of Belgium and the Egmont Institute) are brought together in the partnership circle, advisory board and faculty of this programme to allow for a critical and balanced exchange between the perspectives. Graduates of this programme will be equipped to extract the insights, advantages and limitations of these perspectives and approaches to global security and strategy.

Entry Requirements

An undergraduate degree, or equivalent of at least 180 ECTS in Social, Economic or Political Sciences, Business, Law and/or Contemporary History. If your degree is not within these disciplines, relevant work experience in these or related fields may qualify.

Vesalius College will award Academic Excellence Scholarships to students who have achieved outstanding grades in their most recent university degree and whose extra-curricular achievements show evidence of leadership in today’s global society. Other factors include one letter of recommendation from their university and (in certain cases) standardised test scores.The College's merit-based financial assistance can provideup to a 50 % reductionin tuition. The scholarship will be directly applied to the student’s tuition fees

Value of Scholarship(s)



There is a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) required to obtain a scholarship. Vesalius College will also take motivation and extra-curricular activities into consideration. Evidently, better scores and grades, combined with strong motivation and participation in extra-curricular activities will improve one’s chances of acquiring a scholarship.
