Course content

The programme accommodates students with a wide range of practices, including site specific and environmentally based work, as well as studio-based activity, and offers support and stimulation for those working within and beyond the studio tradition.A key strength of the Fine Art MA at UEL is the vitality of its student exhibition activities, and a regular engagement with professional venues and practices. We have an ongoing relationship with many galleries.

Additionally Fine Art students are constantly discovering new venues to install/exhibit work, and show regularly in the ADI Gallery, as well as at many external venues.

Students are encouraged to develop ambitious, innovative and personal work within the supportive atmosphere that the studio activity provides. Within this supportive situation students respond positively to the rigorous and intellectually challenging debate initiated through seminars, artist's talks and gallery visits.

Key Facts

Many students continue to exhibit and sell their work. Some develop careers as curators, gallery directors/assistants and a range of other employment routes related to the creative industries.

Why Choose Us?

The MA in Fine Art offers excellent studio facilities for full-time students and bookable spaces are available to part-time students who are maybe working off campus in between teaching.

The technical workshops offer a great range of support for all students wishing to expand their knowledge of a variety of processes and the majority of technical demonstrators are practising within the creative industries.

The teaching programme is intensive and there is a good range of staff available for all students to work with.
