M.SC. MANAGEMENT AND ENGINEERING IN TECHNOLOGY, INNOVATION, MARKETING AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP (MME TIME)

I can say that in just 5 months, I feel the impact of the MME-TIME distance program on my overall personality. I am beginning to look at problems in a different way, finding out the root cause and tackling it step by step, so to say. It has definitely given a direction to my thought process and developed my analytical thinking which gives me confidence to tackle any industry's problems. Technology, Innovation, Marketing and Entrepreneurship rolled into one within a highly qualified faculty is a cocktail mix I would never tradeoff for anything else.
Recently we worked on a project with a pharmaceutical company for one of the subjects called Aachen Innovation Project, and although we did not have any knowledge about this industry, we were able to provide them with solutions which they highly appreciated, which is going to be your job anyway – tackling new problems on a regular basis. This program perfectly prepares you for your real job. On a personal level, my time management skills have become much better.

When I was looking for a Master degree I had two main criteria in mind: (1) join one of the top universities in Europe and (2) find a program that combines Business and Engineering. The MME-TIME offered the perfect combination. RWTH Aachen University is one of the most important universities in Germany and it is internationally known for its excellent academic level. Also The MME-TIME has a partnership with Cambridge University which was very appealing to me. The program provided me with tools and knowledge to understand how businesses and entrepreneurs are responding to the opportunities and challenges of our connected and fast-changing world. I am therefore better equipped from a business and technical perspective to contribute to this important journey in any industry I decide to work for in the future.

Before joining the MME TIME program, my view of the corporate world was limited to one organization and its ecosystem. During the Master, we were exposed to case studies and practical examples from multiple organizations acting in very diverse industry domains. This exposure allowed me not only to develop new sets of skills that are more broadly applicable, but also to find out exactly which skill sets I already possessed, that could be transferable. One of the reasons I decided to do a Master’s degree was exactly to change industries. Therefore this professional development is directly linked to my personal life. In addition, the Master's cohort was very diverse, with a good range of cultural and professional backgrounds. Exchanging experiences and talking to different people with different backgrounds is the best way, in my opinion, to see things from a different perspective. So to me, the MME TIME was a perfect fit, both professionally and personally.

I really enjoy the city vibe in Aachen. Since a big percentage of the inhabitants are students there's always something going on. Its geographical situation is very convenient because it's situated right at the border to Belgium and the Netherlands making weekend travels so easy. I love that everything is in walking distance and there's no need to have a car to commute. On top of that, the program offers a lot of flexibility (residential or part-time mode, technology or more management focus). So if you haven't made up your mind because you don't know yet on which competences to focus or because you are working and don't want to leave the company, I would still encourage you to apply to this program and all of these questions will for sure be clarified in the process.
