The RWTH Business School's DDS program is placed on the sweet spot between Operations Research and Data Science. This provides me with the great opportunity to apply my knowledge and skills in various professional environments. Having an industrial engineering background, Operations Research is one of my favorite fields of interest. Being able to use Data Science as leverage, I am not only able to solve many problems faster but I can also take on challenging problems that were previously deemed as too complex. I think, if you are interested in learning how to use Data Science as a tool to create value either for a company or for your own start-up, this is the right program for you.

Along with the great reputation of RWTH Business School, I believe the Data Analytics and Decision Science program is going to open unlimited possibilities for my future. The combination of the wide range of applicability for Data Science in Healthcare, Climate Change, etc., the enjoyable day-to-day activities that involve statistics, programming, business, management, etc., and the high demand for professionals with this specific knowledge domain in the market and research community. The thing I like the most about the DDS program is that it is designed in a very industry-oriented way that broadens one´s horizon and trains us to create value in several application areas like Marketing or Supply Chain.

Roney Mathew

The DDS program is very industry relevant and the topics are highly trending job skills. I really like the practical application oriented course structure and how it is a right blend of management and technical courses. One important thing that I learnt apart from the technical skills, is the power of networking in professional circles. Events like the Innovative Tuesday offered by the RWTH Business School, bridge the gap between industry and students. I've gained an impression of what the industry expects and how to network with industry professionals. My advice to future students is to understand clearly that the program is not like any other Data Science program and it trains you not to be a Data Scientist. It trains you on a higher level – to be a decision maker and to act as a bridge between the top level management and the 'techies'.

Shruti Manivannan

I graduated in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering. After that, I worked for 2 and a half years in the field of Business Analytics as a Business Intelligence consultant. During my work experience in the field of BA majorly pertaining to supply chain management, I was aspiring to do my masters to get better in the analytics field.
The reason I chose the DDS program at RWTH Business School was that the syllabus of instruction contained the right mix of technical Data Science subjects and Management subjects - both skills together make the perfect recipe for a powerful career! The DDS program here in Aachen was the only program with such a good balance compared to many other alternative master programs.
Additionally, RWTH Aachen University has a very good reputation and pioneering faculties, which I got to know while researching about the program and through my seniors in Aachen. I would totally recommend the program for those who want to start their foundation in the field of Data Science and Analytics. It is also great for aspiring managers, because the course strengthens your skills in decision optimization and in soft skills.
