Course Description

Logistics and Supply Chain Management efficiency is a critical success factor for most organisations. Strength in this area is often the key competitive advantage for market leaders.

The MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management equips you with advanced quantitative and qualitative analytical skills in order to identify areas for improvement within an organisation to gain the competitive edge.

The programme is for graduates from business, management, science and engineering disciplines, seeking to gain skills to work at operational to strategic level. Logistics and supply chain management problems may include inventory, transportation, warehousing, location, reverse and green logistics and customer and supplier relationships. Graduates of this MSc are able to respond to the challenges in an area that is constantly evolving.

The programme is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT)(https://www.ciltuk.org.uk/), the UK‘s independent professional body for logistics, supply chains and transport. Course structure

You study six compulsory modules and two optional modules. The compulsory modules are: Introduction to Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Warehousing and Transport Management, Contemporary Issues in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Management of Operations, Spreadsheets and Decision Support Systems, Data Mining and Forecasting and a Dissertation in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.

Programme Director's Scholarship - No. of awards TBC

Overview - Our Programme Director scholarships are open for applications and are available for all students applying to study on a master’s programme offered within the School. There will be scholarships available per programme up to the value of £2,000 each. Programme Directors will be looking to grant these awards to students who have an outstanding academic background, can demonstrate their passion for the programme and will contribute greatly to their specialist field.Criteria - Applicants must have made a formal application to study onto a Master's programme at Kent Business School and be in receipt of an offer for September 2016 entry.
Applicants should hold (or expect to hold) a first class degree (or equivalent). Students with a borderline 2:1/First degree will also be considered.Application and Decisions - No scholarship application required. Awards considered on a rolling basis by the Scholarship Awarding Panel. Applicants will be notified at offer stage. Please note:Applicants can apply for more than one type of scholarship award offered within Kent Business School, providing they meet the criteria stated. Please note however, successful applicants can only be in receipt of one scholarship award but can still be considered for the Double Loyalty Scheme and also the Early Bird discount.
Scholarship awards will only be granted for September 2016 entry and cannot be deferred.
Whilst there is no official deadline for applications, these scholarships are dependent upon a finite pool of funding and will deplete accordingly. The University reserves the right not to allocate the awards if the selection panel identifies no suitable candidates.

Entry Requirements

Students who wish to apply for a higher degree should have a good honours degree from the UK or equivalent internationally recognised qualification, in a quantitative discipline, such as engineering, logistics, mathematics, economics or statistics. Consideration will be given to those applicants holding a good second class honours degree.Applicants without an honours degree may also be considered on the basis of work experience, professional qualifications and the relevance of the programme to their current professional role.
