About the course

This course provides an opportunity to engage with contemporary debates in local and regional development theory and policy in an international context. It fulfils the current demand to build capacity and skills for strategic analysis and policy-making. We place a distinctive emphasis on the links between theory, policy and practice.

Course suspension

Our Local and Regional Development (Research) MA has been suspended for 2020 entry. This means that we won’t be able to accept applications for 2020 entry.

The suspension is due to delivery constraints as a result of Covid-19.

Entry Requirements

A 2:1 honours degree, or international equivalent, in a relevant subject, such as the arts, humanities or social sciences: geography; planning; urban studies; environmental studies; sociology; politics; history; business studies. We will also consider your application on an individual basis if you have lower or non-standard qualifications and relevant industry experience. Applicants based in the UK may be invited to interview.
