LLM/PGDip/PGCert Employment Law

Course Description

Law is a fast-changing and increasingly complex area that impacts on most aspects of professional, commercial and regulatory work. This programme provides students with analytical and reflective skills and expertise in law. It provides a learning experience which will enable students to develop their academic ability and enhance their performance in employment and further develop their career opportunities. It provides the successful candidate with a recognised postgraduate qualification in law.

The LLM Employment Law is available to students from both a legal and non-legal background. Our students have typically been law graduates, employment lawyers in private practice and public bodies, Human Resources professionals, trade union officials and all those who need a firm grasp of the legal aspects of employment.

Students from a non-law background take Foundations of Law. Core modules are in Collective Labour Law, Security in Employment and Equality at Work. Options are available in Employment Law in Practice, Privacy & Confidentiality or from a wide range of LLM modules covering business law, environmental law, human rights, ICT law, International law and medical law. There is training in advanced legal research and the culmination of the programme is a 15,000 word dissertation.

Visit the LLM/PGDip/PGCert Employment Law page on the University of Central Lancashire website for more details!
