The course combines theory and practice with the latest innovations in lifelong learning. It looks at them in connection with the digital economy and its increasing influence across different areas of society.
You'll study, first-hand, the impact of the web on day-to-day and working practices and engage with different technologies to develop both theoretical and practical knowledge that you can then apply to your own educational practice.
The focus is on the contribution of lifelong learning in responding to economic, social and environmental challenges. It also looks at lifelong learning in building a knowledge society that increasingly relies on new and emerging technologies.
The programme is aimed at those working across the education, business, community and voluntary sectors, including: - teachers - professional educators - policy-makers - administrators
It’s also suitable for those aspiring to enter these fields or who are interested in lifelong learning in general.

The Lifelong Learning in the Digital Age Course is part of the MEd programme.
Study mode and duration: - flexible – you can take up to 3 modules per year
Start date: you can enrol at the beginning of each semester
You can take any three classes in lifelong learning to complete the Postgraduate Certificate. To achieve the award of the Postgraduate Diploma you must take six classes in lifelong learning, or five classes in lifelong learning and one optional class from the wider MEd programme. If you want to proceed to the MEd you can choose to focus your thesis on lifelong learning and/or technology enhanced learning topics.
The course is delivered by a team of experts from the School of Education and the Centre for Lifelong Learning. Both have teaching and research experience in the areas of lifelong learning and technology enhanced learning.

The Pre-Masters Programme is a preparation course for international students (non EU/UK) who do not meet the entry requirements for a Masters degree at University of Strathclyde. The Pre-Masters programme provides progression to a number of degree options.
