For the non-specialist student, the Law School offers a general LLM which permits the students to pick and mix modules from the specialist schemes. The general LLM consists of a compulsory module in Legal Research Methods plus taught modules, selected from the list below. The dissertation could be on any legal topic subject to approval of the Law School.
January intake: Taught modules on the Law LLM are undertaken in the period of January to June and September to January and will involve the study of 120 credits. The dissertation (or equivalent) is valued at 60 credits and is undertaken during the period of June to September.
We accept applications from graduates of LLB and other disciplines. For LLB graduates, we normally require a minimum of a lower second class degree from an approved University. Applications will be considered on a case by case basis for students with degrees in other subjects. Alternatively, possession of a suitable professional qualification or relevant practical experience may be accepted.
In general, all applicants are judged on their individual merits. Work experience and other factors are also taken into consideration.
Scholarships, Studentships and Bursaries are funded by both the University and individual academic schools. In addition the International Education Centre also supports international students through a range of awards for international students. Full time students only.
Please visit the website for further information.
Eligibility will be dependant on the individual scholarship.
