The success of an organisation can rest on both an understanding of IT and how to use innovation strategically to enable new growth and competitive advantage. This course aims to provide an understanding of the characteristics of high-tech innovation combined with the leadership and management values necessary for entrepreneurship (new venture creation) or for successfully creating and managing strategic innovation both from within an organisation as well as from outside, eg as an IT consultant.
Good honours degree in computing, computer science, IT, information systems, software engineering, economics, communications, electronic engineering, business and/or management studies or similar. Candidates with other qualifications may be considered if they possess relevant work experience as well as outstanding students who do not necessarily have the required prerequisites.

The decision to choose this particular MSc course was based on the context and the features of the course. At the time, I thought that this course would allow me to expand upon my knowledge in both IT and business and enable me to continue on from my undergraduate degree, while providing me with further challenges, theories, and new concepts. This type of course would benefit people who are interested in establishing their own companies, because it provides you with the fundamentals of how to compete within an industry sector, or market place.
