The Programme

The MA in International Relations is concerned with analysing the key issues and concepts in world politics. The programme will provide you with a sophisticated theoretical and applied understanding of international relations including areas of expertise such as war and security, globalization and development, and US foreign policy. The programme enables you to develop a set of analytical skills and knowledge that will allow you to think, talk and write critically about contemporary international issues, as well as building a firm foundation for further study.

This programme is delivered via a blend of Masterclasses and online learning. You will attend four Masterclass sessions throughout the year at the University of London’s Paris Campus. The Masterclasses are taught by experienced academics who are leaders in their field. These intensive sessions will give you the opportunity to network with your peers face to face and experience life on campus at the University of London Institute in Paris. You will also benefit from a dedicated tutor who will guide you through the topics and assignments of each module in a sophisticated online environment.

The programme will be delivered through a blend of workshops/Masterclasses based at ULIP and online teaching via a sophisticated e-learning platform.

Each semester will commence and finish with a Masterclass, held over the course of a day at ULIP, and run by a faculty member of the School of Politics and International Relations. The first Masterclass will introduce students to a basic overview of the modules, and the last Masterclass will consolidate the learning process.

In between master classes, each module shall be taught through an online environment by a dedicated tutor. The tutor will facilitate and encourage discussion via online forums, and will be available for Skype or email discussion with students during "drop in" hours (two sessions weekly).
