This programme offers students the opportunity to explore international property markets whilst also learning from the real estate market and practice here in the UK. Interdisciplinary and holistic in nature, this programme examines the factors that influence the pricing of real estate.

◾If you are interested in helping to shape the future of towns, cities and regions, this this programme will provide you with an excellent base on which to build a fascinating and rewarding career. ◾There is significant input from industry to our teaching programme, including teaching on some courses, guest lectures and seminars. ◾If you want to establish a career as a chartered surveyor, primarily as a member of the Commercial Property Practice or Valuation or Property Finance and Investment Professional Groups of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), this programme is designed for you. ◾This programme is professionally accredited by the RICS. ◾An optional field trip to London will provide you with an insight into the complex socio-economic dynamics of city building and design through visits to high profile real estate, planning and regeneration projects. You will have the opportunity to both meet and speak with senior industry professionals and policy-makers involved in the delivery of major urban developments. Past trips have included visits to The Shard, Olympic Park, Crossrail, Battersea Power Station.
You will take a series of core courses, choose optional courses and undertake a dissertation or a major project in international real estate. There is also an opportunity to take part in an international study trip. The real estate profession is multi-disciplinary in nature so you will begin with lectures, seminars, tutorials and case studies in courses that provide you with an understanding of how urban economies and markets function, and the processes involved in urban development.
Towards the end of semester 1 you will start to develop core real estate skills and continue to build on this knowledge base in semester 2 by developing and applying core real estate skills in project, lab, field and team practice-based activities.

Opportunities exist in real estate agencies and consultancies, financial institutions, property developers, house builders, local authorities, and the civil service. There are also informal opportunities to meet people from industry at open events and recruitment presentations and we will also support you to arrange professional work placements.
Aga Khan Foundation - International Scholarship Programme

The Aga Khan Foundation provides a limited number of scholarships each year for postgraduate studies to outstanding students from select developing countries who have no other means of financing their studies, in order to prepare them for employment, primarily within the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). The Foundation gives priority to requests for Master's level courses but may consider applications for PhD programmes, in the case of outstanding students who are highly recommended for doctoral studies by their professors and who need a PhD for the fulfilment of their career objectives (academic or research oriented). Applications for short-term courses are not considered; neither are applications from students who have already started their course of study.To be eligible applicants must - Be nationals of the following countries: Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Madagascar and Mozambique. May also be considered those originally from these countries but currently living in France, Portugal, UK, USA and Canada, who are interested in development-related studies and who have no other means of financing their education. - Demonstrate consistently excellent academic records - Show evidence of genuine financial need - Have obtained admission to a highly reputable university or programme of study - Establish relevance of the field of study to AKDN’s focus areas - Provide thoughtful and coherent educational and career plans, their extra-curricular interests and achievements, potential to achieve their goals and likelihood to succeed in a foreign academic environment. - Have some years of work experience in their field of interest.Preference is given to students under 30 years of age.Scholarships are awarded on a 50% grant : 50% loan basis. The Foundation assists students with tuition fees and living expenses only. The cost of travel is not included in AKF scholarships. Funding for PhD programmes is only provided for the first two years of study, after which the students are expected to find alternative sources of assistance. Financial assistance is provided according to the needs of students, but the International Scholarship Programme must be considered a lender of last resort. Preference is given to those who have been able to secure some funding from alternative sources.

Application forms can be obtained as of 1st January from AKF offices or Aga Khan Education Services/Boards in the applicant’s country of current residence. The application procedures of AKF's International Scholarship Programme are decentralised. Completed applications should be returned to the agency from which the form was obtained. They should not be sent to Geneva. Applicants should be prepared to be interviewed by local Scholarship Committees about their financial situation, their academic performance, extra-curricular achievements and career plans. Applications and Interview reports of shortlisted candidates are sent to Geneva for the final selection. The annual Scholarship Selection Meeting takes place in late June or early July and the Aga Khan Foundation notifies all students of the outcome of their application shortly thereafter.
The University of Glasgow - James McGill Scholarship

The College of Social Sciences has introduced scholarships, available to graduates of McGill University who apply to the Masters programme at the University of Glasgow, commencing in September 2016. The scholarships will be awarded as a tuition fee waiver.

University of Glasgow Country Scholarships
The University of Glasgow award a total of 40 postgraduate scholarships worth £5,000. Scholarships are available to students entering any of the University’s colleges and are awarded as a tuition fee discount.

The University of Glasgow offer 52 University Trust International Leadership scholarships to international (non-EU) students starting a postgraduate taught Masters programme in any discipline. 12 awards worth £10,000 and 40 awards worth £5000 will be awarded as a tuition fees discount.
