International Law offers you a very employable subject at postgraduate level with a range of optional elements in highly sought after areas such as Energy and Environmental Law, Arbitration, Private International Law, Human Rights, Intellectual Property, GATT, Insolvency Law and more.

You learn from internationally recognised staff who have worked at international level at the Hague Conference since 1996 amongst others. The programme offers you potential to specialise in specific areas of international law which are broadly within trade, human rights and environment. Environmental Law is heavily publicised currently due to the many challenges within sea, air and every aspect of life which we now question at individual level. At organisational level these areas are highly regulated to prevent harm to the environment at government and local level, yet many discrepancies persist which allow you to focus on the challenges presented by business and growth. Within trade law you cover intellectual property rights, patents and copyright to arbitration and negotiation at global level. You grasp the rules and regulations governing global trade from start up to insolvency. Within the more humanitarian side of the law you can look at human rights and family law. Whatever choices you decide upon within your degree you can be assured that all areas are always in demand globally.

A dissertation allows you to decide which areas are most important to provide a thorough research and analysis project and award you with an LLM. Your degree allows you several career options upon graduation. There are plenty of businesses who require in house staff to support their international growth with dedicated legal teams and there are plenty of smaller high growth businesses in need of some consultancy support to get them to this level. Further down the chain you may be involved in start ups within innovating product and service areas where a unique product is going to market taking with it the need for brand trademarks, and protection. If you decide to combine your options within an environmental area there are many NGOs, activist organisations such as Client Earth and celebrities fighting to protect and preserve our environment and you can be involved either at the regulation end of this or to support business growth or to protect individual human rights and pollution free environments. All areas of law offer you an incredible amount of satisfaction whether you are supporting new business and innovation or protecting the environment in order to grow.
