About the course

Understand the impact of finance and financial markets on the wider global economy.

You explore the theory of finance and quantitative methods in a way that emphasises logical development and application rather than formulae. You develop the technical and analytical skills required by the finance industry and learn about:

-The uses of finance in developed and developing countries

-Financial and monetary economics

Technical aspects such as corporate finance and financial econometrics

How will I study?

The eight core modules are assessed by unseen examinations, presentations and a term paper. The applied finance research project is the final assessment unit, supervised by faculty, to help you develop your skills as a researcher.

Entry Requirements

A lower second-class (2.2) undergraduate honours degree or above, including evidence of ability in either economics or quantitative subjects such as mathematics or statistics. English language requirements - Standard level (IELTS 6.5, with not less than 6.0 in each section).
