Being an LLM student means a lot of work, but also a lot of fun! There is a wide variety of courses to choose from, so I was assured I could spend a year on subjects I really liked. There are so many courses offered that it was actually hard to decide which ones to pick!. The staff at the School of Law have always been very helpful and approachable. Moreover, the School organises all sorts of events for the students and generally creates an atmosphere that makes it easy for foreigners to feel at home right from the start.

Julie Rochester Wooten

I chose the LLM in International Law because the programme was flexible enough to allow me to concentrate on the areas of international law that interested me - International Criminal Law and United Nations Law. It also allowed me to build on the domestic legal training I received in the US. Studying in Glasgow will give you a very different perspective and approach to the law that many would not otherwise have. It is an enriching and rewarding experience, and will be a decision that you will be glad you made for the rest of your life. I would also say that it is entirely feasible. Government based Stafford Loans are available to US citizens who study abroad at Glasgow
