Entry Requirements

You will normally need to hold a recognised and relevant qualification at Level 5 or 6 for example BA (Hons) Human Resource Management or CIPD Intermediate level qualifications.

It would be an advantage for applicants to have experience of working in a HR or general management role for at least a year.

If you have extensive HR experience but lack qualifications, you may be invited to an interview with the Programme Leader to assess your suitability for entry to the course.

Scholarships

The Sir Thomas White Charity provides loans and grants to support and encourage young people to progress their employment and career prospects by funding educational and training needs.

Sir Thomas White’s Northampton Charity Grant Fund offers grants of up to £1,000 to support individuals to access education at any educational establishment or employment opportunities.

The Fund can be used for:
- education or training leading to a recognised qualification
- training/courses leading to relevant trade skills.

Eligibility

To apply you must be:
- aged between 25 and 34 years or
- aged between 16-34 years if attending Moulton College
- a current resident of Northampton and have resided there for (at least) the last five years. The Trustees have recently widened this boundary to include some additional areas. To check if your area is within the required boundary, please check the area boundary map on the Sir Thomas White Charity website.

The T D Lewis Scholarship provides financial awards of up to £1,000. This scholarship is awarded on educational excellence or potential.

T D Lewis was a Northampton shoe manufacturer who left the sum of £1,000 for the provision of a scholarship or scholarships for educational purposes in the County of Northampton. His daughter, Margaret Lewis, gave to the trustees an additional payment for further scholarships.

Eligibility

To apply, you must already attend, or have gained a place, at the University of Northampton. Suitable applicants will be required to attend an interview by the trustees late in the summer term and will be notified of the results shortly afterwards.

Eligibility

You must hold an offer to study a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught programme (BA, BSc, BEng, MEng, LLB, Joint Honours, MA, MSc, LLM or MBA) at the University of Northampton.

UK and EU nationals who are eligible for a maintenance loan from Student Finance England will not qualify.
Students studying for a course validated by the University at a partner institution will not qualify.

Application Procedure

Scholarship awards are made in parallel with an application to study at the University - applicants are not required to make a separate application for a scholarship. Scholarships are awarded based on the merit of each individual’s application and academic eligibility.

Applicants will be notified if they have received a scholarship in their offer letter. Where an award is conditional, applicants are required to demonstrate that they meet the scholarship conditions outlined in their offer letter. Scholarship decisions are final and no further correspondence relating to awards or eligibility will be entered into.
