Human Resource Management(MSc)

Course Description

This fast track to CIPD Associate membership allows you to develop the skills required for a successful career in human resources management. Taking a critical approach to HR, you will underpin your learning by attending industry events and engaging with practitioners and CIPD members.

This course is ideal for those who wish to pursue Chartered membership of the CIPD while developing advanced study and research skills. As a student on this full-time fast-track course, you will increase your understanding of HR and its potential to create competitive
advantage. Develop your strategic thinking and professional competence through a curriculum aligned to the CIPD’s knowledge requirements and diversify your skills by taking modules within the university’s Business School. It takes an innovative approach to
learning, teaching and assessment, including case studies, problem-based learning, expert guest lecturers and core subject lectures – underpinned by business application.

You will be supported by teaching staff, many of whom are chartered members of the CIPD with practitioner and consultant backgrounds. You will benefit from guest speakers with specialised areas of experience and the opportunity to attend an employment tribunal or other HR related event. The department has a strong relationship with the Gloucestershire branch of the CIPD and students are required to attend on-campus CI PD events where they can network with professionals from around the region.

Entry Requirements

You will need at least a 2.2 honours degree or equivalent in a relevant subject and have practical work/organisational experience atdegree level, or have an appropriate premasters programme and have practical work/organisational experience at degree level. EU and international students need IELTS 6.5 overall (no less than 6.0 written) or equivalent.
