About the course

The History course aims to enable students teachers to become passionate, creative and enthusiastic practitioners to motivate the desire in learners to want to learn about society and the world. By developing an understanding of the Humanities you will have the skills to create a stimulating learning environment, to enable young people to become creative, ambitious, ethical and confident.

Entry Requirements

A degree, at least 50% of which is History-related. We consider students with degrees in related subjects, for example, Politics, Archaeology. There will be gaps in subject knowledge for all students and the course is designed to address this issue.

To support the Welsh Government’s Literacy and Numeracy framework students must have achieved a standard equivalent to a Grade B in the GCSE examination in any of the following:

English Language
English Literature
Welsh Language (First Language)
Welsh Literature
