About the course

This course will prepare you to be a successful teacher of secondary school history.

Introduce your students to major events and developments of the past, help them to become critical thinkers and develop their understanding of our society.

Work with a large partnership of specialists to develop into an effective history teacher. Learn how to enthuse your students about big concepts and events through the discipline of history, allowing them to widen their understanding of how we construct our past.

Entry Requirements

2:2 or equivalent in History or a related subject. We also accept combined honours degrees where history or a related subject makes up at least 50% of the award.

Grade 4 (C) or above in English and Mathematics

The Department for Education requires a pass in professional skills tests, in addition to GCSEs in English and Maths. It is in your best interests to book and pass the skills tests as soon as possible, as they will help us assess your application.
