Course content

The Higher Diploma in Statistics is for those with a non-statistical background who wish to reach in nine months a level of statistical knowledge equivalent to that of a BSc Honours degree in Statistics. It is specifically designed to provide students with a solid theoretical and applied statistical knowledge so that they can continue to further study in the field of Statistics or be employed as an applied statistician on completion of the degree.

The Higher Diploma in Statistics is a taught postgraduate programme which provides students with a good background in statistical theory and methods. Students learn about the fundamentals of probability and statistics, as well as gaining knowledge of standard statistical techniques. Additionally students will learn how to work with several statistical software packages.

This programme runs full time for one academic year - September to May (2 semesters)
This programme runs part time for two academic years - September to May (4 semesters)
