Course content

Accredited by IOSH, this online degree with multiple study options enables you to undertake the course at your choice of pace and without taking a career break. The course will provide you with a complete understanding of health, safety and risk management and the appropriate managerial knowledge and skills.

This course has been designed in collaboration with practitioners to study the management, rather than the technical applications, of this rapidly expanding area of expertise.

The course will appeal to practicing health and safety professionals; to those who wish to pursue a career in this area; and to managers who have day to day responsibility for the health and safety of the workforce.

At Aberdeen Business School, we are in the business of changing your tomorrow.

What you will study

You will develop personal and research skills for study and career development in the key areas of Health, Safety and Risk Management including health and safety legislation and hazard identification and analysis. Quality management and models for ensuring health and safety in organisations are also covered.

You will continue to develop your knowledge in further key areas of the specialism including management, human and psychological factors essential to the successful implementation of Health, Safety and Risk strategy. Decision-making and performance planning skills are another key aspect of study.

The Capstone module is designed to provide you with an opportunity to integrate Masters level knowledge and skills by independently working on an applied academic study, professional dissertation or business consultancy project from a degree related discipline. Personal and professional skills such as research, oral presentation and teamwork will be developed.
