Health Professions Education - MSc/PGDip/PGCert

Course Description

Develop your knowledge and skills as a tutor, educator and researcher by studying our distance-learning programme

Our Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma and MSc in Health Professions Education are designed especially for health professionals who work in education. Whether you work in medicine, nursing, midwifery, radiography, physiotherapy, pharmacy, dentistry or another health profession, this course covers a variety of topics that will be of interest to you.

You will gain an expert understanding of curriculum design, delivery, assessment, feedback, leadership and research approaches to education across the health professions. This programme will enhance your professional credibility and confidence in teaching and practice.

These programmes offer flexibility from the outset: You can study at your own pace progressing from Certificate to Diploma to Masters of Science. The course is delivered via distance learning, however optional study days are available if you would like them. We offer two entry points onto these programmes (September and January), so you can start as soon as possible.

Teaching and Learning Activities

The course is taught using a mix of face-to-face study days with distance learning throughout the modules. Study days are either on campus at the University of Hull or the University of York. For students who are unable to commit to the study days, we offer an online only programme.

A range of teaching and learning activities will be used in the delivery of this programme, these include:
-Self-directed learning
-Small Groups
-One-to-one mentoring
-Online learning e.g. discussion board and quizzes
