About the program

Delivered in partnership with the Royal Flying Doctor Service, the world’s largest aeromedical provider, the Graduate Diploma in Retrieval Medicine provides medical practitioners, nurses and paramedics with the necessary skills and knowledge to manage, within their scope of practice, the clinical and organisational components of retrieval medicine services in both an Australian and an international context.

Open to successful applicants applying for a Graduate Diploma in Retrieval Medicine for September 2015, the Postgraduate Excellence Scholarship provides high achieving individuals with a unique opportunity to receive 25% tuition remission to complete postgraduate studies at Bond University. Building on the knowledge and skills of the Graduate Certificate in Retrieval Medicine, the Graduate Diploma has been designed to extend participants’ experience in the organisational aspects of retrieval medicine to enable them to become senior leaders and managers in this area.

The Graduate Diploma enables participants to explore some of the unique and high-risk areas in retrieval medicine such as military settings, infectious patients, and natural disaster zones. Issues such as human resources, governance, training, professional performance and critical decision-making skills are addressed. The program also equips participants with the skills required to undertake a research project within their own discipline area and scope of practice.

This is a highly interactive online program that accommodates the busy health professional by allowing the online course work to be completed over the semester. The collaborative format of the online delivery allows for networking with other participants and professionals working in retrieval medicine.

The Graduate Diploma in Retrieval Medicine enables you to matriculate into the Master of Retrieval Medicine.

Professional outcomes

The Graduate Diploma is designed to equip you with the advanced practical skills and theoretical knowledge to be well positioned for leadership roles in retrieval medicine.

You will be able to provide a patient-oriented, preventative and systematic approach using advanced clinical problem-solving skills to complex situations in critical care and emergency medicine in the pre-hospital and retrieval medicine environment.
