Graduate Diploma in Nursing (Public Health)

Course Description

Graduate Diploma in Nursing (Public Health ) is designed for nurses who are interested in expanding their knowledge base in the domain of public health nursing.
The Graduate Diploma in Nursing (Public Health) programme helps you to develop valuable knowledge and skills in the areas of primary healthcare and community nursing leading to registration on the Public Health Nursing Division of An Bord Altranais’s Register.
This is a full-time graduate diploma level programme, which takes place over two academic semester (September-June). Classes take place on Mondays in Semesters 1 and the remaining time represents clinical placement. For more see www.ucd.ie/nmhs

Entry Requirements

Must be registered as general nurses with An Bord Altranais. Hold a level 8 qualification (NQAI) or apply through APEL. Must have a minimum of two years experience in nursing. Must be successful in gaining sponsorship as a student public health nurse from the Health Service Executive. Must apply through the Post-graduate application centre (Joint application process for all colleges who offer the public health nursing programme and Health Service Executive application).
