This programme is aimed at educationally preparing nurses to become an advanced nurse practitioner (ANP) in a relevant area of specialist practice. Advanced nursing practice is carried out by autonomous, experienced practitioners who are competent, accountable and responsible for their own practice. The Graduate Certificate (Nursing) (Advanced Practice) programme helps you to develop advanced knowledge and skills in your area of clinical practice. You will learn about advanced clinical nursing knowledge and sharpen your analytical and critical thinking to enable you to independently provide optimum patient care through caseload management of acute and/or chronic illess.
Be registered as professional nurses or midwives on a live register. Have a Masters degree in nursing or a related subject, or hold an equivalent qualification. Have a minimum of six year post-registration experience. Have three years in the chosen area of specialist practice. Provide evidence of continuing professional development. Provide documented support from the Director of Nursing and Physician in your practice setting. Designate a mentor who will provide support and supervision in practice.
