About the course

Our Graduate Certificate in Critical Care Nursing provides flexibility for the future provision of critical care nurse education.

The course integrates the National Standards for Critical Care Nurse Education and the National Competency Framework for Critical Care Nurses (Critical Care Networks (CC3N) 2012).

It is formulated from three distinct modules that critically explore underpinning policy to support the assessment, monitoring and nursing management of the critical care patient.

Course aims

To enable critical care nurses from clinical environments relevant to the outcome award to explore and extend their understanding and application of the knowledge that informs competent clinical practice.

Entry Requirements

Students must have a current professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and should provide their NMC pin with the application
Work within clinical practice area where the assessment and management of Level 3 critical care patients takes place, for a minimum of twelve months, and be contracted to work for at least 18 hours per week
Have completed Step 1 National Critical Care Competencies and provide the completion date on application
