About the course

The MSc in Geographic Information Science (GIS) is a one-year, full-time course. It is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge to analyse and interpret geographic data. The course is taught by experts in the field of GIS and comprises eight modules and a dissertation. You will learn key skills in: using a range of GI software; scientific programming; dealing with the growth in data from social media and the internet; and analysing spatial data in the broader context of data science.

This degree looks at the systems and software used to analyse geographic data. GIS is an increasingly important field, with real-world applications in areas like business, modelling, environmental protection, forecasting and regional planning.
