- Why did you choose Birkbeck?
Birkbeck is an ideal institution for people who want to pursue world-class higher education while keeping their jobs. I thought it was great to have such flexibility when you don't need to ask days off to attend classes. Also, knowing that Birkbeck is a highly reputable and worldwide recognised research and evening teaching university made my decision where to study really easy. Who wouldn't want to be taught and influenced by professionals and reputable researchers?
I was also happy with the modules university offered as part of the BSc Environmental Management course. I have now received a scholarship from Birkbeck to continue my studies in Birkbeck doing a Masters, which confirmed studying here was one of the best choices I’ve made in my life.
- What did you enjoy about the course?
I loved all the modules but especially field trips to various beautiful places in UK. I have witnessed various environmental problems in reality which has extended my learning beyond books. I had such an amazing experience and enjoyable time during the three years of my BSc Programme. Lecturers were and are more than amazing and really helpful.
- Is there anything on the course that inspired you?
It inspired me to learn more! Probably my choice to continue my studies and do the Master’s in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) was inspired by GIS modules taken during my Environmental Management course. Something clicked in me, it felt that this is what I want to do in my near future: environment with geographic information systems works perfectly for me.
