Entry Requirements

Entrants should normally have achieved a BA (Hons) / BSc Degree of 2:1 or above (or its equivalent), in a subject related to your proposed course of study.

Applicants who hold a Degree from another discipline may also be considered for entry, subject to the submission of a satisfactory portfolio of art, design or media-related work in support of their application.

The offer of entry onto a Masters Degree (MA) is based on an expectation that you have the potential to fulfil the aims of the course of study and achieve the standard required to successfully complete the award.

Home Postgraduate degree (full-time) - £9,000
Home Postgraduate degree (part-time, over 2 years) - £5,625 per year
Overseas Postgraduate degree (full-time) - £18,000

To come to NUA has been one of the best decisions of my life.

The MA has more professional content. On the BA you can do your own projects and pursue the areas that interest you and this is similar on the MA but with the MA you are more independent and have more freedom in devising your learning agreement. The course is mostly practical but this is supported by essays and a reflective journal which provides the context. To work in contemporary practice you need to understand the context.

Definitely the most rewarding outcome of my MA was my inclusion in the Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2019, which I applied to following a group session on various open submission opportunities. Being selected to be part of such a prestigious group has been really amazing, and has lead to lots of great new doors opening for me. It’s because of my inclusion in the New Contemporaries that I was also selected for the Saatchi Art Rising Stars 2019 report, which has enabled me to sell more works, especially to the US.

Through the MA some friends and I formed the TBA Collective, which has also been really great, especially as a way to continue the momentum of showing works.

Scholarships

The Dubery and Brogden scholarship was established in September 2016, following a substantial bequest made to the East Anglia Art Fund (EAAF) from the Estate of artists Fred Dubery and Joanne Brogden.

This money has enabled EAAF to provide scholarships worth £2,500 per year of study to one postgraduate student on the following courses: MA Fashion, MA Fine Art and MA Textile Design.

Richard Jewson, Chairman of Trustees, East Anglia Art Fund said: “In 2016 East Anglia Art Fund celebrates 25 years of supporting art exhibitions in the region. This bequest represents an immensely exciting opportunity to extend our work with artists, supporting their study at the Norwich University of the Arts”.

£2,500

Eligibility

This scholarship is open to all full time and part time students studying on either MA Fashion, MA Fine Art or MA Textile Design. All eligible students will be invited to apply in September of their starting year.

Application Procedure

All eligible students will be invited to apply in September of their starting year, after enrolment. They will be required to submit a written artist statement along with images of work directly to Norwich University of the Arts. All applications are reviewed by the East Anglia Art Fund who will select a winner.
