Our course encourages you to develop your ambitious and innovative work within the supportive atmosphere of studio-based practice and under the close supervision of some of Britain’s leading artists.
We’ve been providing opportunities for ground-breaking talent since the Chapman brothers started making their dramatic impression back in the 1980s.
Now, Professor Grenville Davey, the 1992 Turner Prize winner who runs the course, believes it just keeps getting better.
The core elements of the course are designed to be challenging and enjoyable, to offer a rich, vibrant and varied experience in the fine arts.
Minimum 2.2 Honours in Fine Art or related Creative Arts subject.
We would normally expect you to have Grade C in GCSE English and Maths. All applicants are required to attend an interview and submit a portfolio of their work.
Overall IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in Writing, Speaking, Reading and Listening (or recognised equivalent).
You should previously have been awarded an undergraduate degree, postgraduate degree, professional doctorate or a postgraduate research degree from UEL or one of its predecessor institutions, such as the Polytechnic of East London.
You cannot apply for the alumni discount if your course involves distance learning or if you are studying towards a master’s and diploma in Architecture (RIBA Part 2), a PGCE, a post-compulsory education and training (PCET) course or any short course or courses worth less than 120 credits.
15 per cent discount on tuitions fees
If you’re a member of UEL’s Alumni Association, you are automatically eligible for 15 per cent off your postgraduate fees*. The offer applies to all UEL alumni, however long ago they graduated.
Please include on your application form that you previously studied at UEL, and include your old student ID number. The 15 per cent discount will be deducted from your tuition fees after any other scholarships, and before any early payment discount is applied. It can also be used alongside other scholarships and funding.
An international scholarship at UEL covers part of the cost of course fees. Scholarships are highly sought after and the process of applying for scholarships is often competitive and carries deadline dates. The amount awarded is assessed on a case by case basis and is often up to £4000 off tuition fees per year.
Up to £4,000
You must have filled out an application to study at UEL prior to applying for the scholarship (we will ask for your UEL application reference number)
