The Fashion MA at Kingston University is a unique and innovative course combining the creative thinking of the Design School's core beliefs with a very solid and 'creative' fashion industry focus.

With a heritage and specialism in womenswear, menswear, knitwear, digital or fashion artefact outcomes, the course combines industry standards with a creative and contemporary approach to fashion design, developing a holistic and exciting approach to fashion design and beyond.

Entry Requirements

In order to apply, you'll need:

A 2:1 or above honours degree in fashion design or a related subject, product design, graphic design or fine art.
A portfolio. Once submitted, only shortlisted candidates will then be invited for an interview. Interviews can take place locally or online.

Student Profile

John

John has emerged as one of the most important and creative fashion designers in the world. After completing his studies at Kingston, he created a collection under his own name and became a leading exponent of the British avant-garde. His talent lies in fusing innovative style with master tailoring and his collections have achieved global distribution. His edgy designs are often inspired by rock 'n' roll, and have gained him a cult following.

"You were expected to work unbelievably hard, which I enjoyed. The competition was fierce; the tutors were passionate, tough and encouraging. The friends I made and the special moments we had, I'll never forget. I loved every minute – so many good parties!"

Scholarships

Through the generous support of Kingston University alumni and friends to our Inspire the Future campaign, we are able to offer 20 postgraduate scholarships to progressing Kingston University undergraduate students and recent graduates (class of 2020-2022 only). The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage academic excellence and allow talented graduates to continue to higher levels of learning and research. The scholarship offers a 40%* reduction in fees for taught masters or postgraduate diploma courses with September start dates.

Your application will be judged on:
your academic success to date and your future potential, as evidenced by undergraduate module results, awards and references from those who have taught you at Kingston University
your demonstration (in your personal statement in the application form) of the impact studying this course will have on your future and the wider world

* Please note that the Inspire the Future scholarship cannot be combined with other Kingston University scholarships or discounts. Therefore, for those who are eligible for a 15% or 10% fee discount, the total discount they would receive for each year of their course, if awarded an Inspire the Future postgraduate scholarship, would be 40%.

The Chelsea Arts Club Trust MA Materials and Research Award is awarded each year to a student in MA Fashion or MA Sustainable Fashion. The £2,500 bursary is given to support the development and production of work made during the recipient's final year of their masters leading up to the final presentation of work at the end of the academic year.

Your application will be judged on:

- Your academic success to date
- The impact that receiving this support would have on your practice and studies
- Both a written application and a submission of a portfolio
