The Executive Master of Business Administration is aimed at those in managerial positions. This dynamic course will enable you to build the skills and vision required in today’s business environment.

This part-time programme of study introduces innovative business theory in a practical context. Whether you work in a public or private sector organisation, you will learn how to integrate cutting edge research and practice, across all key business areas to achieve business transformation. What you study

This challenging course will expose you to all areas of business through a diverse range of modules. You will study core areas of business with an emphasis on the strategic nature of decision making.

A critical part of the University of South Wales’ EMBA is exploring how people impact on business thinking, and the systems that can enhance this fundamental part of an organisation. The University is also host to a vibrant, multicultural environment that provides an excellent opportunity for you to gain an international perspective to business, and different cultures and practices.

You will study the following modules:

Year 1
- Leadership & Management Theories – 20 credits
- Strategic Financial Management – 20 credits
- Strategic Operations Management – 20 credits
- Strategic Marketing – 20 credits

Year 2
- Strategic Analysis Tools & Techniques – 20 credits
- Coaching For Executive Leadership – 20 credits
- Research Methods (This forms part of the Business Research Project, the assessment is the Project Proposal (5%)

Year 3
- Business Research Project – The project consists of a Proposal (5%) – already completed at the end of Year 2. In addition a Presentation (10%) and a Written Project of 18,000 words (45%) – 60 credits

Learning and teaching methods

Taught sessions are delivered by passionate and knowledgeable tutors, in addition to self-guided study, lectures, seminars, group work and exercises. You will have the opportunity to strategically analyse organisations, deliver presentations, and prepare marketing and business plans.

You are encouraged to attend the many guest lectures organised by the School of Business, to broaden your understanding of important subject areas.

Assessment methods

You will be assessed through written assignments, presentations and project work. The EMBA involves the completion of a significant business research project, developing your communication and consulting skills.
