About the course
Earn a degree accredited in Austria* and the U.S.
This is a new and dynamic, problem-focused program that aims to empower graduates to address the complex challenges faced by today’s public policy makers. Working in a divided world where even the most solid of democracies may become fragile, and many of the established institutions and patterns of authority have been destabilized and challenged, today’s policy makers operate in a fluid environment where transformations are taking place at an unprecedented scale and speed. EMPA is aimed at professionals who wish to combine leadership and smart policy-making with a commitment to making the change, and at those who want to support the building of open and democratic societies.

Student Profile(s)
Laura Ramirez Rivero

"For me, the exposure to different disciplines within the Department of Public Policy really broadened my understanding of public issues. The diverse career and academic backgrounds of the professors as well as the colleagues I can now call friends challenged me not only on a professional level but also on personal and cultural levels. The combination of analysis from a perspective of management, finance and human rights allows me to frame solutions to problems in ways I never thought of before."
