ESILV Graduate School of Engineering trains engineers with strong scientific and technical bases and a real professional experience, who are opened to the world and prepared to the challenges of tomorrow's industry.

ESILV (Léonard de Vinci Graduate School of Engineering) is structured around digital sciences and technology and is separated into four major specialisations that include computer science, computational mechanics, finance, and energy. With intimate class sizes supporting close peer-to-peer interaction, team projects, and international internships/opportunities, students receive a comprehensive, well-rounded education. ESILV is a member of the CGE, the UGEI, the CDEFI, and Campus France.

ESILV delivers graduates the 'Diplôme d'Ingénieur' accredited by the 'Commission des titres d'ingénieur (CTI)' which is the French accreditation body for engineering programmes and institutions. ESILV has the Master label EURACE.

ESILV offers five-year Master's programme : The 1st cycle of 3 years enables students to be at the heart of the digital and to acquire strong scientific bases in Computer Science, Mathematics and Engineering. The last 2 years, the master’s programme, are devoted to building proficiency in a chosen area of expertise.

  • Computing and Digital Sciences
  • Computational Mechanics and Modeling
  • Digital Modern Energy
  • Financial Engineering: IT and Quantitative Finance

The programme also prepares students for the expectations of French and international recruitment consultants: 3 internships in companies (a total of 14 months in 5 years); student projects in partnership with companies; Hybridisation and cross skills by applying a unique teaching skills with students from EMLV – School of Management and IIM – School of Multimedia; Engage for the future trends: Big Data, FinTech & Assurtech, CyberSecurity, Smart Objects, Smart Buildings, Sustainable mobility; Develop the personality of each student: compulsory long; international experience in companies and/or in exchange studies, sport, student association life.


The construction of the engineer’s skills, at the heart of digital technologies. The majors are the students’ choice. The education is completed by classes of management, of law, of innovation, of languages and sports.

Computer Science, Big Data and Connected Objects

The “IBO” major trains general computer engineers who are able to master all data processing components. To answer the evolution of the company’s strategic needs, the future engineer will be trained to information systems, to the architecture of databases, to the mobility and the application development.

Orientations : Cloud computing and high performance computer architecture, Company information system and applications, Intelligent and communicative objects, Business Intelligence, Smartphone and tablet applications, Mobility and ubiquity

Financial Engineering

The major “IF” trains engineers with strong skills in market modelling and financial instruments while managing related IT and statistical tools. The training also raises awareness among students about the limits of these tools in front of many dimensions of financial risks and concerns of a better regulation of financial institutions.

Orientations : Risk management, Financial markets, Database programming, Financial products, Corporate Finance, Derivative, Responsible Finance

Computational Mechanics and Modelling

The profession of mechanical engineer has considerably developed these last years. With modelling and digital simulation tools, it is about innovating and shortening the period of creation and production of goods and services, while improving the quality and reliability. Beyond technical skills, economic and human dimensions of projects have to be included.

Orientations : Numerical modelling of structural behavior, Complex and multidisciplinary systems modelling, Applied mathematics and scientific computing, Mechanical study and design, Optimisation and reliability, Industrial system management, Materials, Sustainable development, Mastery of digital tools

New Energies

The students of the three schools can apply for this 5th-year-major, on condition that they are project holders of a creation or takeover of a company. The final year work placement can be done, by choice, into the incubator PEPITE PON in the campus, or as part as an Entrepreneurship Erasmus programme, or into a start-up or a SME. Engineer students who take this training can in this way get a double degree with EMLV.

Work placements and projects

Train young operational engineers in company

Students are in contact with the company during their entire course through projects, work placements or conferences. The students work on concrete projects and confront permanently their knowledge with the business reality.

Work placements

In 1st year: Work placement from 5 to 6 months in order to put into practice the first technical knowledge and to understand better the functioning of a company. This work placement takes place from early April.

In the last year: Engineer final year work placement from 5 to 6 months in order to put into practice professional skills and prepare the insertion into the company. This work placement takes place from early January.


In all trainings from Pôle Universitaire Léonard de Vinci, the concrete application is accentuated. We believe that the assimilation of knowledge is better if it goes along with a practical example at the same time. That’s why we make students work on concrete “projects”.

PI24 : The project of Industrial Innovation intervenes in the 1st year of the master program of the engineering school. The equivalent of hundreds hours, it stages a team of 2 to 6 students on a concrete issue, the most often offered by a company or a research laboratory.

End-of-studies project : on themes offered by partner companies of the school, the students produce in small groups an end-of-studies project on a concrete issue. This project of hundreds hours must enable a student to highlight his/her work outward and increase his/her visibility to companies.

Corporate Relations Department

ESILV develops close links with companies in all business sectors: aeronautics, automobile, civil engineering, engineering, IT department, telecommunication, bank, insurance… Students are in contact with the company during their entire course through projects, work placements or conferences presented by professionals.
