About the course

Our MSc in Environmental Change, Impact and Adaptation is an innovative, bespoke, multi-disciplinary programme that addresses the challenges that climatic and other environmental changes pose to society. It draws on world-leading expertise in the department in both the natural and social sciences to cover a range of topics including: desertification, terrestrial carbon cycles, flooding, risk management, records of palaeo-environmental change, environmental hazards, policy response, sea-level rise, and the impacts of warming and changing rainfall on ecosystem processes.

2:2 Bachelors (Honours) degree in a relevant subject area, or equivalent. Non-graduates will be considered individually based on relevant work experience.

Music Scholarships are intended for experienced players for orchestra/band instruments or singers (jointly with an instrument) who can actively contribute to the University’s orchestras, bands, choirs and other ensembles.

Aberystwyth University offers a Scholarship towards Taught Masters, LLM by research and MPhil tuition fees for Aberystwyth University graduates. The Aber-Grad Scholarship applies to both UK/EU and International students. If you hold a First Class Bachelors (Hons.) degree, then the scholarship will be 20% of your tuition fees. Holders of Second Class degrees are eligible for a scholarship worth 10% of your Taught Masters tuition fee.

Selection will be on the basis of academic excellence and the applicant’s suitability for their proposed course. A minimum (UK) 1st Class Honours (or equivalent) is required for an award. Scholarships are available for entirely self-financed students (i.e. they cannot be held by students with full-awards, e.g. Chevening Scholarships, Commonwealth Shared Scholarship or any governmental award or any partial awards, including AU departmental awards, Aber-grad Scholarships nor HEI partnership discounts.

Eligibility

Up to 13 scholarships, each worth £5,000 towards tuition fees will be available for International (non-EU) students commencing full-time Taught Masters courses in September 2018. The scholarships will be awarded for academic excellence (minimum of a UK 1st class honours degree or the equivalent award).

Application Procedure

In order to be considered for one of these awards, an application for a place on a taught Masters degree at Aberystwyth University must be received by 27th July 2018. Separate application forms are not required. Therefore it is essential that the application for a place be received by the AU Postgraduate Admissions Office (AQRO) by the closing date.

The Mason's Bursary is normally open to all IBERS MSc courses. Applicants must have or expect to gain at least a 2:2 Honours degree (or equivalent) equating to a mark of 56.5% or above.

Separate application forms will not be required. Standard course applications must be received by the Postgraduate Admissions Office before the deadline along with a letter stating your interest in being considered for the bursary.

• be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country, and intend to return there at the end of the period of study;
• hold a degree that is equivalent to at least an upper second-class honours degree in the UK;

The Institute of Biology, Environmental and Rural Sciences (IBERS) at Aberystwyth University, a world-class agricultural teaching and research institute, is offering a limited number of generous scholarships on its postgraduate distance learning. Scholarships will be awarded to eligible students on a per module basis. The award is currently set at 80% for modules taken in 2020. This will reduce to 60%, 40% and 20% in subsequent years.
