This course will prepare you to teach National Curriculum at KS3 and KS4 (11-16), specialising in English.

Learn to be an effective teacher, and gain an insight into the key skills your students will need across English, drama, media and ICT.

Entry Requirements

2:2 or equivalent in English. We also accept combined honours degrees where English makes up at least 50% of the award.

If your degree is not in English or a related subject, we may still may be able to offer you a place if you have a postgraduate degree in English or Grade B in A level English Literature and/or English Language.

Grade 4 (C) or above in English and Mathematics

The Department for Education requires a pass in professional skills tests, in addition to GCSEs in English and Maths.
