Our EngD (International) is a four year programme that combines industry relevant research, taught courses, group projects, and an international placement.
The EngD (Int) programme is more vocationally oriented in engineering than a PhD and is better suited to those in industry.
Offered through our EPSRC-sponsored Centre for Doctoral Training in Sustainable Materials and Manufacturing, it combines taught modules and overseas placement opportunities with original research based on real industry problems.
What qualification will I receive?
Students will graduate with both an Engineering Doctorate (International) and an MSc in Sustainable Materials and Manufacturing.
By gaining the knowledge, skills and networks to compete in the global marketplace and applying rigorous analysis, innovative thinking and good management practice you will gain the key competencies vital to becoming a manufacturing leader.
You will be working on a project proposed by a sponsor company. This may be the company you currently work for, or a proposed project by another company for which you can apply. Current available projects can be found on our website
As well as spending much of your time 'in company' researching your project, you will attend taught MSc modules and work on a group project with fellow EngD students.
You will have an academic supervisor from WMG, as well as an industry supervisor in your sponsor company.
