Our Endodontics MSc is designed to give you the skills to successfully and confidently manage more complex and demanding endodontic cases. We will provide the latest evidence-based knowledge in endodontology enabling you to successfully integrate endodontic therapy with other aspects of restorative dentistry, and learn research methodology
This course is mostly delivered online, so you can study anywhere in the world with minimum disruption to your professional and personal life while benefitting from world-class teaching.
This is a three-year programme leading to an MSc in Endodontics. You will study the scientific basis of endodontology, diagnosis and treatment planning for patients with complex endodontic problems, and clinical treatment of patients with endodontic and other restorative problems. You will also study and develop research methodology skills to enable you to undertake a research project and further your expertise. We will train you with the latest evidence-based knowledge in endodontology and enable you to successfully integrate endodontic therapy with the other aspects of restorative dentistry.
Our programme director, Dr Federico Foschi, has helped many dental graduates, both nationally and internationally, to achieve their postgraduate goals, broaden their horizons and confidently manage more complex and demanding endodontic cases.
Please note - The provision of any clinical opinions, treatment planning, treatment plans and/or any advice in relation to care of individual patients will not be provided by the teachers and staff of the programme. Patient treatment and care is the sole responsibility of the treating clinician. Advice regarding the suitability of a clinical case for submission for the clinical module can be given at the tutor’s discretion.
Intensive face-to-face training blocks
Delivered primarily online, the course also provides 14 days of intensive teaching and practical training in London. Our expert tutors will give you guidance on complex dental procedures at our specialist postgraduate teaching centre, LonDEC, situated at our Waterloo Campus, which offers state-of-the-art dental training facilities. These blocks are an invaluable way to consolidate learning and progress to the final year.
You will be taught mostly online through King's E-learning and Teaching Service (KEATS) which provides information, interactive questions, assignments, use of bibliographic databases and reading material. This gives you the freedom to study without interrupting your work and personal life, and to put your skills directly into practice. Our students participate in online tutorials and discussion groups, interacting with expert tutors and their fellow students. Face-to-face lectures and hands-on training take place in blocks in the first two years. Students are required to undertake and build a reflective log of clinical work in their own general practice.
60% per cent of each module will be assessed through exams and 40% through assignments, with the exception of the Operative Procedures module and the Endodontic retreatment/Surgery & restoration of endodontically treated teeth module, which will be assessed through clinical portfolios, and your final project, which will be a 10,000-word written report.
You can take your exams in London or, for overseas students, at centres in your country of residence.
