EMLV Master’s programme in business and management

The EMLV Business School provides all the De Vinci students (managers, engineers and designers) with initial training in business based on instruction fostering hybridation, multiculturalism and cross-disciplinary research.

The Léonard de Vinci Business School (EMLV) offers several degrees with specialisations in accounting, digital business, marketing, finance, and human resources. The EMLV programmes were designed to help students reach their highest potential as future leaders.

Master : the EMLV offers a 5-year master programme (diplôme de l'EMLV Bac+5). This flagship programme is accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and consists of two successive cycles:

The first cycle (1st to 3rd year) enables students to acquire management fundamentals and to define their professional project. Courses are given in French and are opened to international French-speaking candidates.

The second cycle (4th and 5th year) is taught entirely in English and is consequently opened to international students. During this time students choose a specialisation in one of the following subjects: corporate finance, digital retail banking, digital marketing strategy, entrepreneurship and digital innovation, digital human resources, marketing, or negotiation and sales. It is open to international English-speaking candidates.

Master Programme

A 5-year degree fully accredited by the French Ministry of Higher Education.

Thanks to this accreditation, the school is able to sign cooperation agreements with the best universities from around the world

A 5-year degree

The 5-year degree (i.e. a 3-year integrated bachelor combined with a 2-year Master in Management) is approved by the state on the condition that the school satisfies certain academic requirements with regard to the curriculum, teaching methods, conditions in which students are admitted and the way in which the degree is awarded. The 5-year degree is recognized as equivalent to other university degrees, in France and elsewhere, due to the university-wide adoption of the ECTS system.

Programme Overview

The programme is designed around 2 major cycles

Our philosophy : Professional training on the fundamentals of business, commerce and management and striving to build and develop each students potential and promote a global outlook. 1st cycle: defining your career goals

The first three-year cycle (equivalent to Bachelors) enables students to learn the fundamentals of management and to define their personal and professional goals. The program is designed to provide a common skill base through a series of compulsory classes.

Fundamentals of Management: Economy, Marketing and Sales, Accounting and Finance, Law and Management, Human Resources. Communication tools: Two foreign languages, one of which is English, Oral and written communication. Personal Development:Culture and the arts,Understanding the contemporary world, Solidarity mission (one month), Sports / Student associations.

2nd cycle: digitally oriented specializations

The second cycle (years 4 and 5) is dedicated to mastering the student’s specialization and starting their professional integration. The areas of specialization are constructed according to the demands of companies and are all entryways into the student’s desired professional occupation. EMLV offers many digitally oriented specializations such as: digital retail banking, digital marketing strategy, digital human resources, entrepreneurship, and digital innovation.

A unique transversal approach

EMLV is one of the only schools to include a transversal approach throughout the entire programme. Transversality is a pedagogical method that emphasizes the development of soft skills. This unique approach is possible thanks to the presence of two other schools located on campus: ESILV (Graduate School of Engineering) and IIM (Institute of Internet and Multimedia). There are 7 transversal weeks that are organized throughout the entire programme. During these weeks, students of all three schools work together on real life, collective projects. These are actual projects proposed by companies that focus on problems concerning innovation

Careers

The business school is conveniently located in the center of Europe’s first business district – Paris-La Défense – where students can take advantage of an excellent business environment.

How long to find work?

The curriculum at the EMLV, as well the practical experience that students gain in companies (minimum of 12 months) helps to explain why so many of our graduates have been successful in finding employment.

Each year, the business relations department carries out a survey in conjunction with the alumni network to monitor and record the EMLV graduate’s progression into the business world within a few months of completing their degree.

46% of working graduates found a job before graduating.  95% of graduates found a job in less than 6 months.

Companies project

There is a strong emphasis on practical application at the Group Léonard de Vinci. We believe that students can better assimilate knowledge if they apply it to real life examples at the same time. That’s why we make our students work on practical-based business projects.

The aim is to provide students with a semiprofessional work experience where they are faced with real life business problems. This experience involves a junior consulting assignment under the guidance of a professor at EMLV and a business supervisor.

Useful Information

We offer an excellent work environment with state-of-the-art facilities in the heart of the largest financial district in Europe, Paris-La Défense.

It is possible to enter the Grande Ecole Programme in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th year.
