The Education MRes is a research degree designed to build on your previous masters study and to meet your individual academic and professional needs.
It will enable you to develop and extend your mastery of theory and practice in education research, including research methods and methodology.
The programme supports the development of autonomous and critical education research and research-informed practice. It also specifically aims to consolidate your academic skills including writing for publication.
On completion of the MRes you will have a comprehensive foundation for further postgraduate research at doctoral level and high-level research-based and research-informed professional practice.

A qualification, normally at masters level, in a relevant subject, or appropriate research experience. If you have research experience but with no masters-level qualification your application will be considered on its merits and will normally require independent academic references.
Experience: Applicants will normally also have at least four years of relevant professional experience. All applicants will be interviewed in addition to any documentary submission made to support their application.
English language requirements: For applicants whose first language is not English, a mandatory minimum standard of English competence will be required which is equivalent to an IELTS score of 7.5.
