Our research degree in Education (MPhil/PhD) is designed to support you in the challenges of doctoral study and research.The research programme is intended for qualified and experienced lecturers, teachers, trainers, or other professionals working in education who wish to explore education as an academic subject. You will develop advanced doctoral research methods, theoretical knowledge and analytical skills to produce a doctoral dissertation.

Entry Requirements

A taught Master's degree in a relevant subject, with a minimum average of 60% in all areas of assessment (eg Merit) level or above and/or
A First Class or Second Class, First Division (Upper Second Class) Honours degree in a relevant subject.

In addition to the above, applicants whose first language is not English must also meet the English Language requirement, which is:

A Bachelors or Master's degree transcript from the UK or UKVI recognised Majority English Speaking Country (MESC).
Or
IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 6.5 in each skill.
