Course content

Economics is about choice and the impact of our choices on one another. The subject Economics relates to every aspect of our lives – from the decisions we make as individuals and families to the structures created by governments and firms.

The specific objective of the programme is for students to acquire the tools for economic analysis and apply them to public and private policy-making related to tourism and events. Our students develop advanced skills in terms of solid knowledge in economic theory, in particular microeconomic theory and quantitative methods, for understanding and analysing economic problems especially related to the tourism and event industry.
Why should you take this programme?
Strong international focus to the programme
Excellent networking opportunities with current students and alumni from around the world
Employment opportunities upon graduation exist in multinational companies, the public sector and NGOs
Flexibility to choose your own thesis topic within the field or write your thesis using the ongoing research at the University.
Who should study Economics?
Students with degree studies in Economics and other related fields who wish to further their understanding of how economic policy affects tourism business and society are strongly encouraged to apply.

As the programme requires thesis work, it is ideal for students who are looking to pursue research or who want to demonstrate to future employers their ability to understand and integrate economic theory and methods into real-life situations.
