Our E-Business (Information Systems) MSc combines business strategies, leading technology, entrepreneurship and organisational behaviour.

About this course

You will develop advanced business and technical skills to differentiate your career in the modern corporate world. This includes the strategic application of cloud computing, information security and other contemporary technologies.

On this course you will study within two world-class schools at Newcastle UniversityNewcastle University Business School deliver the course in conjunction with the School of Computing, which is the number one school in the UK for research impact in society as listed by the British government.

The e-business revolution would not exist without the never-ending research, development and application of innovative information and communication technologies. For example:

  • marketing managers would struggle to design promotional campaigns without business intelligence applications based on data warehouses and online analytical processing (OLAP) technologies
  • buyers would not be able to order the right products, from the right suppliers or during the correct time frames without integrated enterprise resource planning systems based on service-oriented architecture (SOA)
  • the procurement process would not integrate supply chain partners in real-time and in an economic way without the extensible markup language (XML) protocol.

These examples show that visionary technologists must have solid strategicentrepreneurial and organisational knowledge in order to make things happen.
