Doctorate in Professional Studies (DProf)

Course Description

Designed for advanced practitioners, the Doctorate in Professional Studies (DProf) is a research degree, open to almost all professions, providing an opportunity to carry out applied research in major change projects within one’s current work role or organisation.
The focus is on `real world’ problems and making an impact within the work place as well as within the profession. The programme which takes between three to four years to complete and has no attendance requirements, awards credits for capabilities acquired through professional life, culminating in a research project. The programme is structured so that the senior practitioner determines the parameters of her / his research in consultation with academic advisers.
The projects listed below illustrate the breadth and depth of enquiry undertaken by some of the Institute DProf candidates. (If you would like to see a broader range, please access the Middlesex research Repository at http://eprints.mdx.ac.uk/
