AWARD AMOUNT: $500.00 PER BLOCK FOR THE FIRST YEAR OF MD STUDIES WITH IUHS.

Students may submit a written request to the registrar for extension of the tuition scholarship in year 2.

INITIAL ELIGIBILITY
Minimum overall undergraduate GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale
Minimum pre-requisite GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Minimum of “old” MCAT score of 23 / “new” MCAT score of 496*
Hold an undergraduate degree (equivalent to U.S. Bachelor’s Degree)

Value of Scholarship(s)

$500.00 USD per block of study for the first year.

Eligibility

The Dean’s Scholar Award is offered to students who have demonstrated superior academic achievement during their undergraduate or post-baccalaureate studies. This merit-based scholarship provides tuition assistance to students enrolling in the IUHS University School of Medicine’s MD program.

This award is open to ALL incoming first-semester students only.

Students will automatically be considered for this award after the initial application and enrollment fees have been paid (transfer students may be considered for this award).

This scholarship is offered to all students who are engaged in Cancer Research. Students must show proof of research activity and can apply for the scholarship annually.

Students are eligible for US $1500.00 per year reduction in fees so long as they continue to engage in cancer research.

The Student must remain in good academic and financial standing without any leave of absences, missing DXR cases or deferred exams, exam failures or repeats.

A $1500.00 USD annual reduction of fees will be applied as long as students continue to engage in endocrine or genetic research.

Students can apply for the scholarship if they are currently engaged in genetic disease research during preclinical years and in clinical years students who are applying to the US match in the field of endocrinology will be eligible for the scholarship.

This scholarship is awarded to students who wish to engage in Genetic Research or a career in Endocrinology.

The student must remain in good academic and financial standing without any leave of absences, missing DXR cases or deferred exams, exam failures or repeats.

This scholarship is awarded to students who live in remote areas of the world or in rural access locations in the US and Canada who are committed to practice medicine in the remote area.

This scholarship can be awarded to reduce the cost of the students education. The amount is determined by the need and aptitude presented by the applicant.

$1500.00 USD per year reduction of tuition fees

Eligibility

Students must have the equivalent of bachelors degree to apply for this scholarship and commit to practice in the jurisdiction of need.

A $1500 USD a year reduction of IUHS tuition fees will be applied as long as the student is living in a remote or rural community of need. When clinical rotations commence, the student will be required to complete rotations in remote and rural communities to continue the scholarship.

Students must submit a letter of explanation to the registrar describing their need and future plans for their MD degree.
