About the course

Our Orthodontic Therapy Higher Apprenticeship will build on your knowledge of dental sciences. You'll learn how to use this knowledge to treat orthodontic patients in clinical settings.

The Orthodontic Therapist Higher Apprenticeship programme is 13-months long. The course trains dental care professionals to progress their careers to become orthodontic therapists.

The Dental Care Professional Register was created in 2006. This allowed dental care professionals to train as orthodontic therapists. They are able to treat orthodontic patients in the UK, under the prescription of an orthodontist.

Clinical work requires the supervision of a specialist orthodontist who will act as a mentor through the course.
