If you are a dentist, dental technician or a scientist who wants to gain a better research knowledge of dental technology and dental materials, this is the training course for you.
On this course you will be taught elements of dental technology, CAD-CAM, implantology, occlusion, aesthetics and materials. Teaching is carried out by our clinical consultants, chief technicians and dental/biomaterials experts in the Institute of Dentistry. This course is designed for future leaders in the field of dental technology or dental biomaterials who will take up posts in academia, research or industry. You will gain an improved scientific base and research skills and - uniquely - are taught together with our clinical postgraduate students. You will interact with clinicians, attend implantology clinics and technical practice sessions and also attend management leadership and presentation skills courses.

To be eligible for a Chevening Award you must:- Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country - Return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your award has ended - Have an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry to a postgraduate programme at a UK university. This is typically equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honours degree in the UK. - Have at least two years’ work experience - Meet the Chevening English language requirement by 13 July 2017

HESPAL aims to help create the next generation of senior academics who can maintain international quality standards at Palestinian universities and to develop renewed, sustainable links between Palestinian and UK universities.The Scheme will upgrade junior academic staff in Palestinian universities through a Masters Scholarship programme.Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) has one HESPAL scholarship available for students applying for any 1 year Masters programme, which covers:- tuition fees - pre-departure briefing from the British Council - arrival allowances - thesis allowances - a monthly allowance to cover living expenses.Scholarship does not cover the costs for accompanying family, visa fees, IELTS cost, and Airfare ticket to from the UK. The scholarship is limited to a period of up to 12 months and cannot be extended beyond 12 months.
Value of Scholarship(s)
- Applicant must be a resident citizen of Palestinian Territories. - Applicant must be currently employed by the Palestinian university which nominates her/him, which must be one of the participating Palestinian universities. - Applicant will have a Masters degree from a Palestinian university (see footnotes) with a minimum grade of very good (and equivalent to at least a 3.0 Bachelor’s Degree from UK). - Applicant must sign a written undertaking to return to Palestinian university within a time frame agreed with their university, normally one year. - Applicant must have IELTS certification appropriate for course and university (normally at least 6.5, sometimes higher).
- Applicants should complete the HESPAL application form in collaboration with their university, indicating which subject area(s) they wish to study. Applicants should specify at least three and up to to five UK HEIs in order of preference, but there is no guarantee they will be placed in one of these institutions. - Submit the HESPAL application to the home university in Palestine with all supporting documents attached. - Each applicant should submit an online application direct to each university that they wish to apply to and should attach a copy to the HESPAL application. The completed application forms and all other documentation must be submitted in hard copies to your university scholarship coordination office by 23 Janurary 2017.
A degree (minimum of second class honours) in dentistry or a subject relevant to dentistry, such as basic sciences or medical/bioengineering, or the equivalent in professional qualifications and experience.A dental technology foundation degree, a minimum of two years' post-initial qualification experience, and the ability to demonstrate advanced technical expertise in the field. Applicants may also be required to satisfy a practical trade test.A recognised qualification in dental technology through assessments, including a written examination of a standard comparable to a three-year foundation degree in dental technology, or a graduate certificate in dental technology awarded at level of merit.
