This one-year, part-time programme provides dental practitioners the with the necessary knowledge and skills required for safe sedation practice.
Safe sedation practice requires the combination of applied basic science and clinical theory, practiced clinical skills, and experience managing risk. Students undertake an intensive on-campus training week in October before undertaking a clinical practice placement at our partner dental centre. Students return to campus in the Spring term for consolidation of their learning and preparation for exams. In addition to exams, students must complete a logbook of cases and undertake a quality improvement project related to sedation in their own practice. Students are supported by a personal tutor throughout
